my bucket list

provence

In no particular order…

Live in the South of France for at least a year, in a rustic farmhouse surrounded by lavender bushes. I’ll spend the weekends riding my bike to the flea markets and filling my basket with baguettes and cheese wrapped in paper.

Cruise the crystal blue waters of Alaska , while I am there I will try fly fishing, (I don’t want to catch a fish, it just looks like one of those serene ways to spend an afternoon).

Learn to knit and make my own chunky scarves. I could sit on the sofa in Winter with a basket full of coloured yarn spilling out like pretty spaghetti. Repetitiously going click, click, click with the needles.

Bake macaroons that turn out all uniform in size and shape, in many pastel colours.

Be a bridesmaid. I love weddings and I would adore the chance to spoil and pamper one of my friends and be an intimate part of her very special day.  I wrote this post yesterday and by strange coincidence, I had a phone call today from a dear friend, who asked me to be her bridesmaid for her wedding next July! wow

Learn to swing dance. So that the next time I am out and the jazz starts to play, I can do more than just stand against the wall and tap my foot. Plus it will be a great excuse to wear those everso pretty vintage frocks.

What’s on your bucket list?

  1. See my kids grown and living as men.
Visit an Island with my wife and live like I’m rich for a week or longer.
Attend a game/visit several of the pro sports arenas in the country.

  2. All of those things actually! (except for fly fishing – doesn’t appeal whatsoever) I have become obsessed with macaroons and have just purchased a book all about baking the perfect macaroons at home. If I master it I’ll bring em around .. and you can borrow the book any time.

I don’t think I have ever actually eaten macaroons, but they look so pretty and I am enamoured by most things French, I will borrow that book, yes please!
