a little sewing – a crochet hook holder

crochet hook sewing project

For my mum and mum-in-law I made this little bag to hold their crochet hooks. It took a couple of hours to make them both and I used bits of fabric I already had. You could find a similar tutorial here. Of all the Christmas gifts I gave I was most excited about this one. I love how the cases turned out and I knew they would both find it to be very useful. You could use it for knitting needles or even colouring pencils.

I learnt this little trick, to help me sew each little pocket the same width. I stuck down my measuring tape with sticky tape on my sewing machine. Then I could line up the edge of the fabric along the measurements as I went to get them all one inch apart. (I don’t think I explained that very well, I hope you can see what I mean from the photo!)

And I must admit that I was thrilled with my gift and use it for my hooks. Also, the idea with the tape measure is so v ery clever. Now why didn’t I think of that!! :-)

  2. Brilliant trick! Thanks for sharing!! :)
